First Federal Savings Bank November PHS Students of the Month

The following students were chosen by the PHS staff as the November First Federal Savings Bank PHS Students of the Month of their respective class:

  • senior Gaia Froeschke
  • junior Brayden Mackey
  • sophomore Natalhy DeLeon
  • freshman Trey Hall

Senior Gaia Froeschke was nominated by her English 12 PHS Teacher Amy Schmeltz for mentoring/helping a classmate with academic content and exemplary behavior or actions. Schmeltz said, “Gaia loves to read and discuss in senior English class. She demonstrates outstanding leadership in class discussions. Her comprehension of the text helps her peers gain a better understanding as a result of her passionate responses to class readings. Her detailed writing serves as model work for her peers as she excels at employing a wide variety of rhetorical strategies.”

Junior Brayden Mackey was nominated by his Anatomy and Physiology Teacher Lori McClellan for being courteous, using kind language, being helpful to others, showing respect, being honest, mentoring/helping a classmate with academic content, and exemplary behavior or actions. McClellan said, “Brayden is an exceptional young man who works very hard and is always wanting to learn more. He not only works hard for his own learning but also helps others and acts as a great role model for those around him. Brayden’s grade in Anatomy and Physiology is one of the highest and his work ethic is beyond what is expected.”  

Sophomore Natalhy DeLeon was nominated by WSOI American Perspectives Teacher Dylan Connor for being helpful to others, mentoring/helping classmates with academic content, and exemplary in behavior or actions. Connor said, “Natalhy has emerged as a leader in her classroom. She is always on task, focused, and helping peers get their work done too. She shows real concern for the quality of her work and the quality of her classmates' work. She always advocates for herself and asks questions when needed. She gives of her own time, advice, and experiences, and classmates have begun to look to her for help and guidance. She's a pleasure to have in class!”

Freshman Trey Hall was nominated by PHS English teacher Megan Schemenauer for his exemplary behavior and actions. Schemenauer said, “I greatly appreciate Trey's focus, work ethic, and enthusiasm in class. He has that positive spirit that embodies a PHS learner, and I hope he never loses his energy!”

First Federal Savings Bank generously donates $10 for each recipient. Plymouth High School uses the funds to purchase a gift card for each recipient at a restaurant of his/her choice. Plymouth High School would like to thank First Federal Savings Bank for sponsoring the Students of the Month award the entire school year.
