After years of dedicated leadership and service to our students, staff, and community, Mitchell D. Mawhorter is announcing his retirement as Superintendent of Plymouth Community School Corporation at the conclusion of this school year.

As the Board of School Trustees begins the process of selecting the next superintendent, your voice matters. Community feedback will help guide the search for the district’s next leader.

We encourage all parents, staff, students, alumni, and community members to take a minute to complete the survey and share the qualities you would like to see in the next superintendent.

Take the survey here:

Monday evening, we had the honor of celebrating the Top 5% of the Plymouth High School Class of 2026.

An incredible group of students whose hard work, dedication, and perseverance truly set them apart.

The evening included dinner, recognition, and one of the most meaningful moments of all: each student reading a heartfelt speech they wrote to a teacher, mentor, or influential educator who helped shape their journey. It was powerful to witness the gratitude, respect, and impact our educators have had on these students’ lives.

With many of these seniors earning GPAs above 4.0, their academic achievements speak for themselves, but what stood out most was their character, humility, and appreciation for those who helped guide them along the way.

Congratulations to these outstanding students, and a sincere thank you to the educators who continue to inspire excellence at Plymouth High School. It was truly a night to remember. ❤️

Lincoln Junior High School administration was aware that some students had expressed interest in participating in a walkout.
In an abundance of precaution, we had staff monitoring students who chose to participate in the walkout. Our highest priority at all times is ensuring the safety and well-being of every student in our care.
Based on advisement from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) regarding student conduct, attendance, and discipline, the department stressed that student safety and parental authority are the primary concerns. Specifically, any student leaving a school building must have explicit permission from their parent or guardian.
In alignment with this guidance, PCSC will continue to follow our adopted attendance and student conduct policies, with the safety of our students as the most important consideration. We appreciate the cooperation of our families and community as we work together to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.

Big congratulations to our Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Dixon, whose classroom was recently awarded a $1,000 grant thanks to her mom’s nomination!

WNDU visited this morning to surprise Mrs. Dixon with the check, spend time in her classroom, and even interview some of our students about the exciting work happening here.

This grant will help provide meaningful resources that strengthen the connection between home and school, especially for our English Learner (EL) families, ensuring every student and family feels supported and engaged in their learning journey.

Be on the lookout for this special feature from WNDU in the next couple of weeks we can’t wait for our community to see the great things happening in our Kindergarten classrooms!
