Close to 70 students from three Menominee Elementary School second grade classrooms went on a three-hour field trip excursion throughout the city of Plymouth on Tuesday morning. Students got to meet, learn about, and talk to employees who work in the community. The students were also excited to see, tour, and learn about the city of Plymouth.

The bus made stops at the Plymouth Police Department, the Plymouth Public Library, the Plymouth Fire Department, and the Marshall County Museum Historic Crossroads Center.

Second grade teachers Ryan Anderson, Allie Brubaker, and Jessica Heeren prepared their students for Tuesday’s field trip by teaching lessons this month about helpers/workers in the community and about the history of Plymouth. Mr. Anderson said students also learned about the meaning of community, the roles of various community members, and how each role influences their community. He said students and chaperones all had a great time.
