The 8th grade Lady Red Storm B-Team walked away from Saturday's round-robin tourney as champions. They opened up the tournament playing a tough Northwood team in which they got the victory by a mere one point, 27-26. Leading the way in points for the Red Storm was Amber Schramayer with 12. Keiara Himes chipped in 7, Lauren Rumpler 4, Erin Liedtky 2, and Asia Haines with 2. Aumrie Weiss was all over the boards tallying 8 for the game. Rumpler and Schraymayer led the defense with 7 steals each. Guadalupe Jimenez and Emily Sutterby had
solid showings on both ends of the court.
In their second game, the Lady Red Storm faced off against Ben Franklin. Using a solid defensive performance they were able to walk away with a 28-15 win. Himes led all scorers with 12 points while Rumpler scored 8. Liedtky, Jimenez, Schraymayer, and Haines all chipped in 2. Leading the way in rebounds was once again Weiss with 5. Madison Voreis was able to join the team after competing in the Solo and Ensemble competition during the first game and helped add pressure at the defensive end of the court.
Next week, the A-team will return to action on Thursday (February 8th) playing home against LaVille. Game time will be approximately 6:00 p.m.
