While students participated in an asynchronous eLearning day, our staff engaged in professional development. In the morning, EL Facilitator Ryan Ahlrich led a session for educators working with English Language Learners (ELL). The session focused on understanding current ELL policies and laws, analyzing the WIDA Framework and the "PCSC Can Do Model," and exploring effective classroom differentiation strategies to better support ELL students.

Monday, September 16, 2024 is PCSC’s first scheduled asynchronous eLearning day of the school year.

Each year, Lincoln Jr. High students come together for the One Book One School program, a beloved tradition that unites the entire school through the shared experience of reading the same book. This year’s selection is Percy Jackson & The Olympians!
Leading up to the big reveal, students were challenged with intriguing hints and riddles to guess the title, with the reveal itself being perfectly timed as an additional clue.
Today, the journey began with a special moment, as students watched a final reveal video made by staff, and unwrapped their books like presents.
They then dove into the first four chapters, and will continue exploring the book during Storm Time over the next few weeks. This immersive experience allows them to engage in meaningful discussions and dive deep into the captivating world of Percy Jackson like never before!
Pictured is Lydia Carroll’s class, excited to begin their reading adventure.
