Last night, the 8th grade basketball "A" team opened their 2018 season against conference foe Wawasee with a 32-19 victory. Tough defense created fast break opportunities for the Red Storm squad. Sara Hunter had 7 steals, Lexi Rose added 5 while Clare Sheedy, and Leah Tanner had two steals apiece. Top scorers were Hunter with 10 points while Rose, Sheedy, Keiara Himes and Summer South added four points each. Lauren Rumpler, Hannah Friberg, Sydney Rice and Tanner all got into the scoring column. Top rebounder was Rice with three rebounds off the glass. Friberg, South and Madie Mann made some incredible passes on the offensive end. The win brings takes their record to 1-0. The girls will return to action on Monday 1/22 in a non-conference matchup against New Prairie, game time is approximately 6:30.
