Hundreds of parents and students attended a night of fun while learning about science at the Washington Discovery Academy Science Night that was held Thursday from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Dozens of stations were set up for students and their families to enjoy learning about science.

Students, parents, community members, WDA staff and even teachers and staff member from other schools throughout the Plymouth Community School Corporation volunteered their time presenting an array of science concepts through hands-on experiments. Science projects centered around STEM education, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM learning through Project Based Learning can help students understand complex problems, which could ultimately prepare students to be the next generation of innovators.

WDA would like to thank 4th grade teacher, Kim Riddle, for organizing and planning the event, as well as the WDA PTO for hosting a silent auction and quarter raffle.

Despite the pleasant weather Thursday evening, the 2018 Title I WDA Science Night was considered a success, as an abundance of families shuffled in and out throughout the 90-minute event.
