During the upcoming 52nd Marshall County Blueberry Festival many Plymouth High School teachers and students who are involved in PHS Choir, PHS Band, PHS Spanish Club, PHS Chinese Club, PHS Prom committee, AFS, PHS Robotics, PHS Yearbook, PHS Acting, PHS Stage Crew, and the PHS Speech and Debate Club will be volunteering their time working long shifts to park vehicles. The activity serves as a huge fundraiser for these various clubs mentioned above.

Plymouth High School is the actual "official" Blueberry Festival parking lot for festival-goers. The parking lot accommodates all disability parking as well for the four-day festival. Parking is $8 for a single day parking pass and the fee includes tram tickets for all passengers. Trams shuttle festival goers into the heart of the festival and back. Weekend passes for $16 can be purchased as you enter the PHS parking lot or folks can purchase a four-day weekend parking pass ahead of time at Plymouth High School on Thursday by entering door one during school hours. The weekend pass is undoubtedly the way to go if you plan on attending the festival more than one day because not only is the pass good for Saturday and Sunday, but a $16 pass will allow you to park in the PHS lot Friday and Monday as well.

On Friday, Plymouth schools will be closed for the extended Labor Day weekend holiday. However, each day this week the PHS students and staff who will be involved with festival parking have been meeting during a daily 25-minute advisory period, as well as after school to complete Blueberry Festival parking lot training. Students and staff will be directing traffic, collecting parking money throughout the four-day festival. Local law enforcement will provide ATV and foot patrols to make sure the parking lot area is safe and secure.

This year for the first time ever the newly formed Lincoln Jr. High School PTO will also be parking vehicles directly northwest from Plymouth High School in the adjacent amphitheater lot. The cost for a daily spot is $7. Money raised this year will help offset students costs for the annual end of the year eighth grade Washington DC trip.

The Plymouth boys baseball and wrestling teams will be teaming up and opening up the restrooms at Bill Nixon Field in Centennial Park in the heart of the Blueberry festival. The team will be selling bottles of Culligan water for a $1 and use of the restroom for 50¢. The restrooms are clean and have running water. Back by popular demand, the team will be selling refreshing 3 oz. cups of frozen blueberries for $3.50 - whipped topping is optional.
