Civic Engagement Unit

Dozens of guest speakers visited Plymouth High School today for an interactive lesson on voting and civic engagement for our PHS government and economic students. With the 2018 United States November 6th elections less than a month away, this week-long unit will help educate and inform our PHS students in a hands-on way about civic life of our community and developing the combination of knowledge, skills, values, and motivation to make that difference.

Guest speakers shared their voter stories with our students and stressed why it is so important they vote once they become eligible.

On behalf of the PHS social studies department, we would like to say thank you to our guest speakers for speaking to our students!

Guest speakers photographed today included PHS Resource Officer Bridget Hite, Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman, FFSB Alejandra Renteria, US Army - Active Guard - Reserve Recruiter SFC Matthew Czerniewski, Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter, former PCSC Superintendent Jack Davis, Marshall County Election Board Attorney Rick Huff, PCSC Assistant Superintendent Jill VanDriessche, and WSOI Social Studies Teacher Grant Masson.
