On Saturday, Lincoln hosted the conference track championships against Edgewood, Lakeview, Wawasee, and Bremen. The boys team finished runner-up to a strong Edgewood team.  Lincoln had three conference champions on the day: Easton Strain with a season best 5'8" in the high jump which is currently ranked #2 in the state (he had a close miss on an attempt to break the school record at 5'10"); Ashton Artrip in the 200m hurdles (currently ranked #5 in the state) and Nolan Bales in the 1600m run. The following athletes were runner-ups in their respective event: Strain in the long jump (season best 17' 10 1/2"), Artrip in the 110 hurdles (season best 17.49), Dillon Davidson in the 400m dash, Ivan Turcios in the 200m dash and the 4x100m relay team (Artrip, Turcios, Brock Jensen and Strain). Red Storm boys that earned third place finishes on the day: Coby Walters in the 1600m run (season best by 8.6 seconds), Trey Hall in the 800m, and Turcios in the 100m dash. Bales earned valuable 4th place points in the 800m run to conclude the scoring. The meet finished the regular season for the boys. Several athletes will continue their track journey on Saturday May 18th at the Indiana Middle School State meet at Terre Haute South Vigo High School.
