Michael Nyhuis

Michael Nyhuis has been married to his wife Grace for 15 years. They own a small hobby farm in Teegarden and have a pig, 12 chickens, and a cat. They enjoy adventures in the wilderness, hockey, baseball, rockhounding, and things of the like. Michael started his teaching career as a Special Education Director. He has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice with a track on Juvenile Adjudication. He is certified in Applied Behavior Analysis, and worked for 5 years in a direct care placement for kids who have experienced emotional and physical abuse. After taking a break from direct care, he worked in retail and commercial automotive for 9 years before coming to Plymouth Schools, namely Jefferson, as the building sub. He is currently in a degree completion program to receive his Bachelor's in Elementary Education.
