The teachers at Jefferson Elementary began Teacher Appreciation Week this morning with a hearty breakfast served up by the Kids Hope Mentors, a program run by retired teacher, Sara Spasic. Teachers filled their bellies with homemade muffins, Mrs. McCormick’s famous cinnamon rolls, various egg casseroles, fruit with granola and yogurt, coffee with specialty creamers, juice, and a host of other yummy treats.
Teachers sat in harmony enjoying the meal together while watching a touching slide-show of their students who’ve been paired with a mentor for the year. The slides showed the pairs reading and playing together and enjoying specialty events that occurred through the year.
