Senior Parents/Guardians,
Today's message focuses on providing you with an update on commencement and sharing information about yearbooks. For many of you, next week's commencement will be the last high school event for you as a parent. If that is indeed the case, I congratulate you on a job well done! Being a good parent is both challenging and rewarding. I cannot tell you how much we have enjoyed watching the students in the class of 2020 grow, mature, and prepare themselves for the opportunities and challenges ahead of them. It is my hope that our seniors leave PHS with the confidence to pursue their greatness, to demonstrate sincere care for others, to act with integrity, to be a team player, and to recognize the importance of celebrating success when they are fortunate enough to achieve it. I hope our seniors will leave PHS as proud of their school as we are of them. We hope to remain connected with the members of the class of 2020 and with you as parents as well. It is these types of relationships that have helped us maintain the proud tradition and legacy of Plymouth High School.

COMMENCEMENT
On July 17 at 7:30 p.m., Plymouth High School will celebrate the class of 2020 at our one hundred and forty-fifth commencement ceremony. This year's commencement exercise will be held on the football field for the first time in school history. As mentioned in last week's message, we will practice social distancing, and attendance will be limited to four guests per graduate. Guests attending commencement must present a ticket at the gate prior to entering the stadium. Each graduate will be given 4 guest tickets during mandatory commencement practice on July 16 at 9:00 a.m. Guests may enter the football stadium through the gates to the north or south of the home bleachers. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Artificial noisemakers are not permitted at commencement, and tailgating will not be allowed on school grounds.
Guests will be seated in the home bleachers to the west of the football field. Bleacher seating will be available to accommodate groups of four. Your group of four will be separated from other groups by the proper spacing in accordance with social distancing expectations. Guest seating will be first come first serve. Handicapped seating will be available if needed. Each senior should communicate needs for reserved handicapped seating for his/her guests to Mrs. Portteus prior to commencement. We have had to make changes in our back-up plan for commencement. The original plan included moving commencement to the varsity gym on July 17 if we confront bad weather. That is no longer the case. Instead, our new back-up plan will be to reschedule commencement for 7:30 on Saturday, July 18 on the football field. I recognize this may conflict with some commencement parties however, the decision was made in compliance with suggestions from our county health board.
We will be live streaming commencement. Exact details on how you can access the live stream will be shared with you early next week.
YEARBOOK INFORMATION
A limited quantity of extra yearbooks are available for purchase at graduation practice next week for $75 - first come, first serve.

COMIENZO
