Gary and Cheryl Cook Both Retire from Plymouth Schools

After six years of working for Plymouth Community School Corporation as a safety and security monitor, Gary Cook, officially retired on April 3, 2020. Cook monitored the closed-circuit video security system in all of the corporation’s buildings and provided security detail at Plymouth High School on a daily basis. Prior to his arrival in 2014, he was a PCSC school board member but resigned in order to avoid a conflict of interest after being hired by the corporation to fill at the time the newly-created position. Cook, a graduate of Plymouth High School, attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and worked for the Argos Police Department for 5 years and the Plymouth Police Department for 20 years. He has a love for politics and served as the mayor of Plymouth from 2004-2007 and from 1990-2002 as an Indiana State House of Representative. Cook plans to enjoy retirement with his wife Cheryl, who also officially retired this year from the position she has held at Riverside Intermediate School for the past five years as a cafeteria server. Riverside Intermediate School Principal Kyle Coffman said, "Cheryl was hard working, dependable, and worked well with staff and students. We wish her well in her retirement.  She will be missed in our cafeteria."
