Plymouth High School Only Marshall County High School Recognized at 2017 Indiana Dual Credit Recognition Ceremony
Indiana Department of Education Superintendent Dr. Jennifer McCormick honored Plymouth High School at a Dual Credit Ceremony last Monday. The ceremony recognized schools across the state that achieved a minimum of 30 percent success rate in providing students with access to and success in dual credit courses during the 2015-2016 school year. Plymouth High School is proud to be the only high school recognized in Marshall County.
Plymouth High School Principal Jim Condon, Weidner School of Inquiry Co-Director Jennifer Felke, and Plymouth Community School Corporation Superintendent Andy Hartley represented Plymouth High School at the 2017 Indiana Dual Credit Recognition Ceremony held at the Statehouse on November 6.
Mr. Condon said, "At PHS, our dual credit program continues to grow. Students are introduced to the challenges of rigorous college courses and gain an understanding of their readiness for postsecondary education. Simultaneously, college credits are earned at little if any cost."
There are more than 400 high schools in the Hoosier state and 130 received recognition for their dual credit program based on the percentage of students from the 2015-2016 school year who graduated high school having earned at least three college credits. Specifically, at PHS, 31% of the students from the graduating class of 2016 left having completed at least three college credits successfully.
