The Plymouth Boys Basketball Program will be hosting an open tryout for any 3rd grade boy who is interested in playing basketball this coming season for the Pilgrims. There will be an initial cost for a reversible jersey, shorts, and shooting shirt which we will use for our leagues and tournaments that we participate in. We plan to participate in a local league this winter (Northern Indiana Basketball League) that we have been a part of for the last several years. We may also participate in various events held locally at The Zone Sports Complex of Northern Indiana this year. The total cost for these tourneys will be determined by how many players are on the team as we will divide up the cost evenly.
Please be aware that we would like to cap this team at a certain number so there is a chance that cuts will be made. This is not the only opportunity to play basketball in Plymouth: we have The Zone, Upward, and Boys and Girls Club that offer opportunities to play basketball in the winter months. Please keep in mind, too, that we run a summer basketball camp and a fall 4th grade Boys Basketball Elementary School League.
This is an introductory competitive team, however, basketball experience is preferred. The tryout will be held at Plymouth High School on Thursday, November 2nd. Please enter Door #5 (North Gymnasium Doors). As you enter the gym area, we will have a registration table set up. We will use Saturday, November 4 as a 2nd day of tryouts if needed, but there is a chance we may only need one day. Third grade boys need to wear shorts, T-shirt, and basketball shoes to this tryout - we will supply a reversible jersey fo the workout.
