Earthworks and Washington Discovery Academy have joined together to implement a seed to salad bar program. Our goal is to create a large school garden -- planned, built, planted, maintained and harvested by children--which will result in a salad bar in the school cafeteria. We hope to impact the nutritional habits of children as well as help them understand the importance of stewardship in order to insure a sustainable future.
Volunteers are an integral part of this project. Our objective is to involve you, the local community --parents, businesses, city officials -- in the planning and implementation work of the garden.
Join us Thursday, March 13th at 6pm at Washington Discovery Academy cafeteria as we begin this journey towards creating a healthier more sustainable community.
