WDA's Kindergarten classes recently held a food drive at the school. Items collected were donated to the neighborhood center. The school were Heroes to the community by collecting over 2,000 pounds of food. The School celebrated by holding a Superhero day.

"ELFIS AND THE SLEIGH RIDERS"
First graders at Washington Discovery Academy have spent the last six weeks studying and learning about the human body. In conjunction with their human body project, they will be hosting a Red Cross blood drive.
The blood drive will be held at Washington Discovery Academy on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 1:00 - 6:00 PM. The goal is to schedule 100 appointments. We would love to have you donate!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year's book fair a success. The proceeds from the book fair are used to purchase additional books for our library. Congratulations to those students who won a free book at our family night drawing.

The Marshall County Reading Council Membership Drive is going on now until October 31st. They invite everyone to get involved in the organization. The council’s purpose is to promote reading and writing in Marshall County. It does this through different programs and projects that it sponsors and supports throughout the year. Some of them are Celebrate Literacy, Books for Babies, Classroom Grants, Scholarships, PGP Certificates, and the Young Authors’ Conference. Please consider supporting MCRC.
