Last night, Plymouth Community School Corporation Superintendent Daniel Tyree was recognized by his fellow colleagues and community leaders for his 41-year dedication and service to education.
Mr. Tyree's last day as superintendent will be June 30, 2017, but with the last day of the school year ending today, the administration team organized a gathering for his upcoming retirement at the Weidner School of Inquiry @ PHS Wednesday evening.
Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter presented Tyree with a key to the city for his relentless efforts to better K-12 education in the city of Plymouth.
Plymouth High School's Theatre Teacher Jane Faulstich and Speech and English Teacher David McKenzie announced a dedication plaque that honors Mr. Tyree's legacy would soon be unveiled in the high school. Faulstich said, "It will be a huge honor for all of us to walk by that plaque everyday to just honor what you did for us. So I hope that I can represent all of your past students when we just say, thank you so very much."
Details about the dedication plaque will be shared as soon.
