During their monthly Positive School Award Ceremony the following students were recognized for showing growth in the areas of academics, attendance, or timely arrivals to class.

1st Source Bank PHS January Growth Award Senior: Cortni Cook

Cortni Cook was selected as the January Growth Award Winner for showing growth in the area of Timely Arrival to Class and Classroom Behavior. Cortni was nominated by Ms. Judi Lykowski who said, “I am nominating senior Cortni Cook for the PHS January Growth Award because she has really stepped up as a key leader in the PTV Radio/TV 3rd hour class. She has played an active role in leading our PTV show planning with making sure all members of our team are assigned pre-production scripts, production positions and post-production duties like creating a graphic and editing video. She has also taken it upon herself to help students who are assigned on a rotation basis to pre-planning our show on a shared spreadsheet, called (in the news business) a rundown. I can already tell Cortni will make a wonderful management member in a newsroom one day, whether she gravitates towards producing, directing or a related profession. Thank you Cortni for your leadership in our program we all appreciate you! ”

1st Source Bank PHS January Growth Award Junior: Ruben Herrera

Ruben Herrera was selected as the January Growth Award Winner for showing growth in the area of Grade Improvement. Ruben was nominated by Mrs. Lynette Edmiston who said, “From last semester to this semester he has greatly improved his homework completion and studying habits.
