The boys played New Prairie in the opening game. The Red Storm jumped out to an early 13 to 5 lead and never looked back. For the first game of the season, the boys moved the ball well and played hard on defense to be victorious, 38-25. Balance scoring helped the Red Storm. Nolan Bales and Davis Wray lead Lincoln with 11 points a piece. Easton Strain and Kavan Holm chipped in 6 points a piece, and Trey Hall added 4. Roman Snedeker, Brock Jensen, Timmy Wakeland, and Shane Abberger didn't score, but their defensive intensity and rebounding helped set the tone for the team.

In the championship game, Lincoln Red Storm played host, Chesterton Middle School. Chesterton jumped out to a quick 10 to 1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Several changes were made at the quarter and the Red Storm were able to claw back to a 16-10 deficit at the half. Coming out in the second half, Lincoln picked up the defensive intensity and began pressing Chesterton and picking them up full court. This caused several turnovers and the Red Storm found themselves only down 4 at the end of the 3rd, 18-22. Continuing to pressure Chesterton Middle School, Lincoln was able to tie the game up with around 45 seconds to go into the game, but with a few turnovers on key possessions, the Red Storm could not get the go-ahead bucket. Chesterton scored the go-ahead basket with 3 seconds to go and Lincoln was not able to answer. Lincoln Red Storm got their first loss of the season, 23-25, but showed heart in battling back and playing hard until the end.
