Over the weekend the 7th Grade LJH Boys Basketball Team traveled to Northwood to compete in a 4-way tourney. In the first game, the Red Storm played the Trojans from Triton. Lincoln came out fired up and ready to play and jumped out to an early lead and never looked back winning 46 to 29. Moving the ball around and hitting open shots lead to a beat down by the Red Storm. Lincoln Junior High was lead in scoring by Nolan Bales with 17 points, followed by Roman Snedeker with 12 points. Davis Wray added 9, Easton Strain chipped in 4 points, and Brock Jensen and Kavan Holm each made a basket. The boys probably played their best game in the past 3 years, offensively and defensively. Easton Strain played great defense on Triton's main man, and held him to 3 points for the entire game, which came in the fourth quarter. Part of the Red Storm success on defense also came from good help side from Davis Wray and other guards during the game.

In the championship, the Red Storm met their match. Northwood Middle school came out from the first whistle and pressured the ball all over the court, trapping and pressing the entire time. This proved to be a struggle for the ball handlers. Northwood players were tall and long and their reach made it difficult for the Red Storm make good passes. Lots of turnovers and lack of rebounding killed the Red Storm and Northwood destroyed the Red Storm with a score of 26 to 48, and the worst loss of the season. After playing a team the caliber of Northwood, Lincoln sees there are a lot of things to work on in the upcoming weeks to prepare for future games.
