Lincoln’s 8th grade volleyball team traveled to Knox Thursday night and came away with 2 big wins. The Red Storm won the A game by a score of 25-21, 25-9. Tough serving was a key for Lincoln with Sara Hunter (12 for 13 with 6 aces), Corinne Rhodes (10 for 11 with 7 aces) and Maddy Figg (6 for 8 with 4 aces) leading the way. Olivia Newcomb was a perfect 5 for 5 with 2 aces. Maddy Figg had another dominating effort at the net with 10 kills all set up by Clare Sheedy’s 10 assists. Sheedy & Hunter also contributed 3 kills each. The passing game was led by Figg, Newcomb & Rhodes who were all very consistent throughout the match. The win brings LJH to 6-5 on the season.
In the B game, Lincoln won by a score of 25-15, 25-18. Serving was also the key in this game with several girls stepping up. Hannah Friberg (8 for 8 with 2 aces), Halie Roney (5 for 5 with 2 aces) and Leah Tanner (5 for 5 with 2 aces) were all perfect serving in the match. Erin Liedtky (7 for 8 with 6 aces) and Maddy Voreis (7 for 10 with 6 aces) also contributed key serves.
