The 7th annual PHS Riley Dance Marathon took place Saturday, January 27th in the Plymouth High Auxiliary Gym from noon until 9 p.m. Hundreds of students danced on their feet for nine hours straight to raise money for children who physically cannot. At halftime during the varsity basketball game between the Pilgrims and the Mishawaka Cavemen, students performed a special dance they learned on Saturday throughout the day. The dance was followed by a dollar amount reveal where students held up signs of the total dollar amount their fundraising efforts this year raised. Their goal was $35,000 dollars, however, the students were overjoyed that they exceeded their goal by more than $4,000 - bringing in a total of $39,081.70. The donations raised will benefit patients at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. As a mini-marathon under Ball State University, the donations Plymouth High School raised will specifically go to help fund the Magic Castle Cart program at Riley Hospital as well as their Palliative Care Center.
