On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, Plymouth High School will open its doors to host Freshmen Orientation. The event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

For decades, Plymouth High School has held a Freshmen Orientation program for eighth grade students who will soon be making the move from eighth grade to high school in the fall. The evening was traditionally designed to create a smooth transition for students transitioning from eighth grade to Plymouth High School. The event is still held for this purpose, however, over the past few years, the event has evolved not only to welcome the incoming freshmen class, but also to give those who are interested in transferring their child/children to Plymouth High School, a chance to come peek inside and see what type of programs and opportunities PHS offers.

From 6:00 p.m.-6:45 p.m. in the north hallway near the entryway, parents and students will have the opportunity to visit departmental displays and speak with staff members and current students about programs and courses offered at Plymouth High School. Around 6:45 p.m., the program will shift to the auditorium where an informational session will be lead by several members of the Plymouth High School staff. Breakout sessions topics will include transitioning activities, parent engagement, career technical education program opportunities, and dual college credit opportunities.

A team of dedicated counselors, teachers, and administrators will be on hand to answer questions that students and parents may have about the Plymouth Community School Corporation, Plymouth High School, and the Weidner School of Inquiry @ PHS.

All eighth grade students who plan on attending Plymouth High School in the fall and their parents are encouraged to attend this exciting event, as well as parents and students from outside of the Plymouth Community School Corporation who are thinking about transfer options this coming fall. Those who attend are asked to park in the north parking lot and enter through Door 5.
