Riverside Intermediate's Funds Benefit Marshall County Relay for Life

The 6th grade Meteors Team, along with the rest of Riverside Intermediate School, have been raising money throughout the entire school year for the upcoming American Cancer Society of Marshall County’s Relay for Life.

This year’s fifth grade Innovation Academy @ Riverside’s class planned and organized numerous events that have raised $10,000 for the local organization. During the annual end-of-the-year spirit assembly at Riverside Intermediate on Thursday, May 25, Riverside students proudly presented a check to Judy Newburg, Marilyn King, and Audrey Oliver, all representatives of the local American Cancer Society.

Fundraisers held throughout the school year included: movie nights, escape room events, basketball tournaments, Read-Ins, dress up days, and culminated with a Neon Dance Party, on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

This is the fifth year Riverside Intermediate School has raised money for the Marshall County Relay For Life. Last year, students and staff raised $5,000.

Many members of the class, including their facilitators, have also formed a “Riverside Rockets” team and will be attending the Marshall County Relay for Life events on Saturday, June 17, at River Park Square in downtown Plymouth.
