PCSC Annual Teacher Appreciation Dinner

The Plymouth Community School Corporation’s annual Teacher Appreciation Dinner was held tonight, Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in the Plymouth High School Red Rock Cafeteria.

It is a tradition to honor our retirees who have announced that they will be retiring at the end of the school year. Retiring this school year are three employees. Together these three PCSC educational professionals have a combined total of 117.5 years in education!

Plymouth Community School Corporation’s Superintendent Dan Tyree is among the three employees that were honored this evening. His last day as superintendent will be June 30, 2017, the end of the fiscal year. During his 41-plus year career in education, Tyree has served Plymouth Community Schools for 38 years. He became the superintendent in 2008; prior he was the assistant superintendent for three years from 2004 to 2007. Tyree was the assistant principal at Plymouth High School from 2000 to 2004, and a teacher at Plymouth High School from 1979 to 2000.

Retiring at the end of this school year is Denise Ecker, who has worked her entire educational career at Lincoln Junior High School for 33 years. She currently teaches 8th grade pre-algebra and Algebra 1. Ecker is proud to say for 20 years she was a volleyball coach at the school, and for 18 years she was the Math Junior Academic Super Bowl coach.

Also retiring at the end of this school year is Rita Large. She has worked for PCSC for the past 43.5 years. The director of the Joint Educational Services in Special Education JESSE originally hired Large. She is currently the Speech and Language Pathologist for Menominee Elementary School.

Plymouth Community School Corporation thanks Mr. Tyree, Mrs. Ecker, and Mrs. Large for their commitment, time, and dedication for serving the Plymouth community, the students, and the corporation.
