First United Methodist Church will be hosting the second annual Orchestra Honors Recital for both the Plymouth High School Orchestra and the Lincoln Junior High School Orchestra in the church sanctuary on Tuesday, February 21 at 7 p.m. The church is located at 400 North Michigan Street in Plymouth and everyone is welcome to attend!
This recital includes students of the Plymouth High School Orchestra and one member of the Lincoln Junior High School Orchestra.
All students performing at Tuesday’s recital performed Solos or Ensembles at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Solo and Ensemble competition that was held on January 28.
The Plymouth Community School Corporation students who will be performing on Tuesday at First United Methodist Church are all advancing to the Indiana State School Music Association competition on February 25 in Indianapolis.
Orchestra Instructor Jodi Kallenberg said at Tuesday’s event there will be five students presenting solos and two ensembles that will be performing.
Kallenberg said, “Each year we have an incredible showing of talent at solo/ensemble. These students have put in the extra work to achieve the highest level of recognition. This year we have a record number of soloists going on to state, which is very exciting. To see this dedication in students today is extraordinary.”
The event is free and open to the public.
