National Red Ribbon Week is October 23-31st. We celebrate every year to help kids think about making healthy choices for themselves as they grow older.
Since fall break is a week later this year we will celebrate during the week of Oct. 17-21.
Each day will have a different dress up day. Students who participate in the dress up days will be able to put their name in a daily drawing for prizes -- Mrs. Bendy will announce the winners during the official Red Ribbon Week, October 24-26 when we can all wear the ribbons.
The dress up days were voted on by the student council members and approved by Mrs. Mills. The dress up days will be:
Monday, Oct. 17: Drugs are Ridiculous! -- Wear mismatched clothing.
Tuesday, Oct. 18: Team Up for a Drug Free Life! -- Wear favorite team jerseys.
Wednesday, Oct. 19: Say Peace Out to Drugs! -- Dress like a hippie or wear tie dye.
Thursday, Oct. 20: Drugs will turn you inside out! -- Wear clothing inside out.
Friday, Oct. 21: Sock It to Drugs! -- Wear crazy socks. (This is also Grandperson's Day.)
We will also celebrate our I Can Theme by collecting cans (and other non-perishable items or personal hygiene) items for the Neighborhood Center. Students who participate in the food drive each day can also put their name into the daily drawing for as many items that they bring in, increasing their chances to win prizes.
Thanks in advance for your support (and patience!!!) of Red Ribbon Week activities. For more information view or print the attached document in English or Spanish.
