Real Soldier, Dad Visits Classroom12/09/2011 Ashton Robertson's dad, Specialist Ralph Robertson, visited Mrs. Spasic's second-grade classroom Dec. 8 to talk about his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan Jan. 3. Specialist Robertson will be gone for a whole year with the U.S. Army and explained the geography and politics to the class, which plans to stay in touch in the coming year via Skype. Look at how happy these Jefferson Jets second-graders are! They built their own robots out of found items -- call it creativity, up-cycling or thinking WITH the box! These students did a wonderful job building a robot with their families at home and then sharing them at school while explaining their inventions. It was all part of the story of the week, Pearl and Wagner, Two Good Friends. Thanks Mrs. Spasic, Mrs. Woods and Mr. Scheetz.  It only takes a few minutes to read a book to your child's class.
