The first full day of technology use at PHS reminded me a lot of watching my daughters take there first steps.  At first there were some tentative attempts, never straying too far from a hand hold, then they ventured out on their own more, and inevitably they would fall down.  They would land hard, and if no one was looking, get back up and try again.

Like an infant trying to walk, the process of integrating technology at PHS is going to have some bumps, falls, and lots of times in which we will pull ourselves back up and try again.  Today was one such day.  Due to an electrical problem, PCSC schools lost all network connections today just prior to 10 AM, service was restored shortly, but the Internet was slow and cumbersome throughout most of the day.  At 4:45 the network was taken down to reboot and get a final fix.  At the time of the writing of this blog post, the network was coming back online, but could remain spotty throughout the evening.  As an administration team we appreciate all the patience shown today by our students and staff as these problems were worked through.  We hope that any outages this evening are non-existent, but we are confident that as the days move on the integration of technology at PHS will become a much smoother process, and much like my daughters who moved from toddling to running, we as a school will continue to grow in our use and delivery of that technology

Disclaimer:  The child pictured is neither of Mr. Olson's daughters mentioned in this blog post.
