On January 18, 2012, Plymouth High School will hold a Freshmen Orientation Program for current eighth graders and opportunities for the parents of current high school students to conference with teachers.

CLASS of 2016

The Freshmen Orientation meeting is designed to create a smooth transition from junior high to high school.
At 6:00 parents/students will have an opportunity to visit departmental displays and speak with staff members in the Auxiliary Gym.
At 7:00, a meeting will be held in the auditorium featuring representatives from the administration and athletic department who will discuss school policies, trimester scheduling; and extra-curricular opportunities and goals for the incoming freshmen. School Counselors will provide information on graduation requirements and course selection for the 2012-2013 school year.

After the large group meeting, eighth graders and parents will have 3 choices as follows:
Tour of the school by PHS students
Opportunity to enroll in the 21st Century Scholars Program
Attend an informational meeting with Ken Olson, Director of the School of Inquiry scheduled to open in the fall of 2012.

On that same evening, current PHS students will be conducting Trimester 2 Student Led Conferences in the cafeteria starting at 6:30. Opportunities for parents to “walk in” and conference with teachers will be offered from 6:45-8:30 in individual teacher classrooms.
