Healthy Changes in Our School Cafeterias!

This fall, our school cafeterias are meeting tough new federal nutrition standards for
school meals, ensuring that meals are healthy and well-balanced and provide students
all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. Now is a great time to encourage your
kids to choose school lunch!

School meals offer students milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins and grains, and they
must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size. Starting in School Year 2012-
2013, school lunches will meet additional standards requiring:

Age-appropriate calorie limits
Larger servings of vegetables and fruits (students must take at least one
serving of produce)
A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables
and legumes
Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free)
More whole grains
And less sodium

We are always working to offer Plymouth students healthier and tastier choices.

School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families too!

LJH Golf Conference Results

The Lincoln Junior High Girls Golf team is the 2012 NELMSC Champion! Morgan Oberley led the charge for the Lincoln ladies shooting a 45 which tied her for 1st place in the event (officially scored as 2nd place due to a back count). Meghan Egierski played a magnificent round and scored a 4th place, 49. Katie Culp played the best round of her career and scored a 7th place, 52. Katie Johnson had a 58 and Randi Dunn had a 61. All five of these girls worked incredibly hard to win conference by only 3 strokes! The Lincoln Girls end their season 10-1. Great Job Ladies!                           
          The Lincoln Boys played very well at conference. Ricky Cooper had the best round for our team all year with a 40! That score tied him for 6th place (officially scored as 8th due to a back count). Micah Calhoun and Hudson Yoder both scored a 47, Roger Karr had a 48, and John Hunter finished his junior high career with a 51. Although the boys scored well, the competition at the match was fierce and the team finished in 6th place overall. The boys end their season 5-5.
 

LJH Golf

On May 9tt the LJH golf teams finished their regular seasons with a match against Warsaw. Although the boys team didn't win the match, their scores were great! 5 Lincoln boys had scores in the 40's. They were led by Micah Calhoun who had a season best 41. He was followed by Dalton Briles who had a personal best 45, Ricky Cooper with a 47, Grant Clady with a personal best 47, and Roger Karr with a 49.
Other highlights were Alex Hoover sinking two 20+ft. putts, Curtis Smith scoring a season best 52, and Quentin Kupka scoring a personal best 58. The Lincoln Girls won their match finishing their regular season with a fantastic record of 9-1. Morgan Oberley won her 9th match of the year with a 50. Meghan Egierski finished 2nd with a 54 and Randi Dunn was 4th with a 59. Sophia Smith and Melanie Cooper both ended their LJH careers with 7th place 66's.
The Conference Match is Friday where Morgan Oberley will look to defend her individual title along with Meghan Egierski, Randi Dunn, Katie Johnson, and Katie Culp looking to win the team title. Representing the boy's team on Friday will be Micah Calhoun, Ricky Cooper, Roger Karr, Hudson Yoder, and John Hunter.    Good Luck Lincoln Golf!

The 7th grade girls track team won their meet against Bremen last night with a score of 51-49.  Victoria Styers was a triple first place winner in long jump, 100m dash and 4x400 relay.

2012 Indiana Sheriffs Youth Leadership Camp

Are you interested in a possible career in law enforcement?

If so, Indiana Sheriffs' Association will be sponsoring two sessions of the Sheriffs Youth Leadership Camp this summer; June 13-15 (Warren County) and July 10-12 (Brown County). Students must be in either 7th or 8th grade. The camp provides a very meaningful experience and relationship with other campers from throughout the state and sheriff's officers who serve as counselors and instructors.

Applications must be submitted to the Association Office by June 4th for the Warren County Session and July 2nd for the Brown County Session.

Lincoln Boy's Track Results

Last night the Lincoln boy's hosted Bremen.  The 8th grade defeated the Lions 83-17.  The 7th grade also earned a victory defeating the Lions 74-25.   Both teams finished their dual season 6-1.  Each team will be competing this Saturday when they host the NELMSC at Plymouth High School.

Saturday Lincoln hosted 5 other teams for the Red Storm Relay's.  The boy's won for only the second time since its inception.  The team had some great performances including a meet and school record in the 400 relay.  The boy's will wrap up their season this week when they take on Bremen tonight and host the NELMSC on Saturday at PHS.

Red Storm Relay Girls Resutls

On Saturday, the Lincoln Junior High track teams hosted the 7th annual Red Storm Relays.  Teams competing were Urey, Whitko, Warsaw Edgewood, Valparaiso Ben Franklin, and Huntington Crestview.

Winning the girls’ portion of the meet with 86 points was Whitko,  Ben Franklin was second with 83 points followed by Edgewood- 62, Crestview- 40, Lincoln- 37 and Urey- 32.

LJH Golf

LJH Golfers traveled to Columbia City on Saturday for a 6 team tournament. It was a rough day for most of LJH's golfers, but both teams still scored well. The Lincoln boys finished 3rd overall with good scores by Micah Calhoun (47), Roger Karr (48), and Ricky Cooper (50). The Lincoln girls brought home a runner-up trophy placing second to Wawasee. The Lincoln ladies were led by 7th grader Katie Johnson with an unbelievable 55! Her score was 5th best overall for the ladies. Also scoring well for the girls was Meghan Egierski with a 56 and Randi Dunn with a 58!
